A PARADIGM SHIFT IN OUR THINKING IS REQUIRED

Cyber Acuity is a software platform using artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies to deliver real-time information to venues, spaces and places that enables them to make decisions on identity, access and security. Cyber Acuity aggregates over 100 different data points to determine a person’s ability to be granted access. Unlike many other systems, Cyber Acuity does not create a new database that could become a target for cyber criminals.

Cyber Acuity protects individuals data and gives them the ability to share more or less information at each checkpoint. This could be a hotel room, yoga class, airport, sports event or their home. Cyber Acuity’s proprietary algorithm ‘Confidence’ can check information from dozens of sources without ever copying, storing or moving the raw data, ensuring that people’s private data remains private.

Fan scenario

A country is keen to manage the influx of thousands of fans for a sporting event. As part of the mobile ticket the user grants certain rights to data on their device and from their mobile network operator. The raw data is never sent to the government or shared with third-party, however the confidence score (outputs) from the device, user and ticket are used to map patterns of behaviour. Deviations from the pattern trigger changes to the algorithm which presents threat indicators to security services or venues in real-time. This can inform CCTV / facial recognition platforms to be signposted to that individual or for additional security checks to be carried out. Snapshots of confidence ratings (based on mobile, social, CCTV, behaviour) can be stored in our blockchain and used to build reputation or points to access other events, buildings or spaces.

Smart City scenario

Mobile tickets are used to access public transport, taxis, metro, courtesy cars etc in addition to enter places of work, make bill payments, or access government services. The ticket is powered by Cyber Acuity and builds individual and group reputation using confidence scores. The user knows that their raw data (web surfing, wifi hotspot access, cell data, transactions, device roaming etc) will not be shared however the nature of their overall behaviour is benchmarked against previous history and other citizens. Spotting terrorism outside of large-scale events requires continuous surveillance. For citizens to participate it requires an incentive and a need to use a system that is integrated with security services.

Fan buys ticket online and has ticket sent to mobile

  • Acuity SDK within ticket app connects to Acuity Identity service and authenticates fan ID and creates temporary encrypted data store on device. Fan selects level of Confidence they are willing to share with Acuity to gain access to the event.
  • Pre-flight information created using user ID, recent device behaviour, ticket purchase information, mobile network behaviour and any previous events attended. Confidence score generated as snapshot.

Behaviour is now tracked in the background of the app

  • Device is creating daily Confidence scores within encrypted data store within App.
  • Information around user behaviour, device ID, ticket is checked for significant changes. For example - the fan may change mobile device, sell their ticket, travel to a sanctioned country, exchange data with a known actor or visit the venue prior to the event.

  • Within 1km of the venue the API is updated with real-time data on behaviour, identity, device. Message is sent to fan regarding access control profile - seamless entry, normal ID, extra checks or quarantine.
  • At point of access a real-time assessment is made based on current Confidence score. Score is then destroyed internally by the device.
